As you may know by now, NewTek previewed VT [3](TM) at the National Association of Broadcasters convention earlier this month, to great excitement among press and public. If you want to be the first on your block to experience this amazing new software, we are pleased to announce that we are once again deploying a public beta, VT [3] BetaForce(TM).

Our target date for release of the public beta is Friday, May 9 (but we may need to be flexible!). We will be accepting a limited number of participants in this program. Contact your nearest NewTek Authorized Reseller and pre-order today to make sure you are among the first to receive the software.

The retail price of the VT[3] BetaForce software is $595, which is the same as the final shipping version. BetaForce participants who purchase the software will receive final packaging, documentation and software on CD when the upgrade is shipped. Participants will also receive a full copy of LightWave 3DŽ locked to their VT hardware when they receive their final package. Customers who have purchased VT[2] and qualify for free VT[3] upgrades may participate at no charge in the BetaForce program, however; they will not receive the packaging or printed manuals for free. Documentation will be available electronically, and a convenience upgrade with printed manuals and CDs will be available for $99US.

Please note: VT[3] BetaForce participants will be asked to acknowledge a standard Non-Disclosure Agreement and they will be provided access to private discussion forums to discuss VT[3] issues with each other and with NewTek engineers.

Chuck, how would a new VT[2] purchaser know if they qualify for a free VT[3] upgrade?

Thanks

Chuck, do we get VT[3] BetaForce in Europe?

There is nothing about it on the Newtek Europe website.

You must need some PAL users - don't you!

I just wanted you to know that VT [3]software is developing fairly rapidly, as some of you reported seeing at the Videotex show in Dallas earlier this week.

We have now shipped advance beta copies of VT [3] out to our authorized NewTek resellers, and we plan to launch the public VT [3] beta force program at the end of this week. Make sure you contact your authorized NewTek reseller (http://www.newtek.com/dealers/) if you want to participate in this program.

Paul, any word on how to approach Safe Harbor as we discussed privately? I'm sure we made the March 17th deadline for the VT3 upgrade/Betaforce, but Safe Harbor says I'd have to pay for the Betaforce but the VT3 upgrade is still free when it ships. Who do I send the serial number/confirmation to for muh Baytahforse!!!!!!!! :)
