Tapping The Collective Brain for HELP

I have techs all over the country with Tricasters. They send me hard-drives with video files recorded at our various programs.

Here is what I want to do:

* Trim the tops and tails of the NT25-AVI files
* Export just the audio form the AVI files after trimming
* Convert the edited AVI files to FLV

I need the most basic of basic editing programs. I've tried Speed Edit on numerous occasions and am 100% unhappy with its performance on my MAC running Boot Camp.

I need a small program that is fast and isn't a resource hog.

I've tried VirtualDub but all the exports in the Job Tree had errors.

Does a magic program exist?

I sometimes receive 4 hard-drives a week --- totalling 700-800gigs! I need something that will enable me to work quickly and has a batch function.

Any help/advice would be majorly appreciated!

I would suggest TMPGEnc ver 4.
One of the good ones. Can do all that you wanted to do.
