If I have a video, with an alpha channel background, can I play that in the VT over live video?

Yes, add it to a DDR and then assign that DDR to the Downstream Key in the Switcher.

ok. Thanks. One more thing, I've been working with final cut pro, I don't know how to make an alpha channel background on my video clip. Any ideas?
