I could swear (but I won't) that I saw a thread not too long ago about folks having problems with their VT after an update from M$. Check this out:

Be afraid.

I bet MS killed Kennedy.
Yeah, a couple of weeks ago, I came into the office on Monday and ALL THREE of our VT workstations were malfunctioning. I never could figure out what caused it
I wonder if the "secret update" had anything to do with it.

Okay. For those that think I shouldn't stray too far without my tinfoil hat, Micro$oft has fessed up to the silent update:

Note that this update was forced to everyone...even if your M$ Update was turned off.

give it a few days and some hacker will figure out how they did it... and probably replicate it

Oh, they've *already* done that...black-hat hackers have a _never-ending_ supply of security holes in Internet Exploder. ;)
(There ARE good hackers, too, ya know!)
What worries me about this is that Micro$oft will issue a silent update with NO regard for people that need their machine daily to make money. Most of which already disable "auto-update" just to avoid any nastiness. :grumpy:
