The church i work at uses VT4 and will be upgrading to 5 ..Just wondering if a upgraded version of Aura comes with new VT5? I am new to NewTek products. Wondering too if Aura has been changed to Mirage?
And...are there any other resources/tips/tutorials for Aura or Mirage?

Aura hasn't been upgraded for many years now. Mirage is not a NewTek product but I think is created by some of the people that created Aura.

Aura has been upgraded in some subtle ways to version 2.7 for VT[5].
Rich is correct. Mirage is a different product.

There are some very nice Aura Tips and Tutorials on NewTek's website (http://www.newtek.com/products/vt/aura/tutorials/getting_started.html).

The Mode requester is no more (rejoice) When you export a file, there is
a selector for file format. After clicking save, you will be prompted
for any relevant export options.
Quicktime 7 support, if its installed.
This is functional, but still a work in progress.

Apple does not support QuickTime on 64-bit Windows and we are not making
a recommendation that you should install it.

Installation alone on 64bit Windows is problematic in many instances,
but QuickTime import seems to be pretty reliable if it is able to
install on your system.
Quicktime export, however is extremely crash prone and has been disabled
in Video Paint when run on 64bit systems.

Scott,
That's a dated reference. We toyed with the idea of just referring to it by its function, but decided to leave the Aura brand as-is for VT[5]. :D

There are a lot of Vista compatibility changes and bug fixes, along with a few subtle workflow changes too.

It has also been updated to use SSE2 in newer CPU's and to be able to address up to 4GB of RAM on 64bit systems.

That was an old quote, but still basically valid.

No more teasing please...
when do we get all this?

Ordered my upgrade what...
like almost two years ago or something to that effect?

I'm not attempting to 'tease' anyone. I just want to avoid giving a date because as you know...the moment an estimated date is given and then missed, there is Angst & Animosity. (Oh, wait. That's my legal firm).

As soon as we have an official launch date, it will be announced here first!

Paul, do you know how much hard drive space the install will take up? Thanks

It'll be several Gigs, Daniel. I hope to get that info today, in fact.
