Since there is no multichannel audio I/O on the horizon for VT, what about SMPTE slave capability to a Digital Audio Workstaton say, a DAW with a Lynx-Two-A. This would help to resolve our current limitations of 2-channel I/O and help offset the advantage of the likes of Vegas and Premiere Pro, which, admittedly, currently have superior audio tools within their NLE's.
Why multichannel audio I/O, you ask? How about when you want to ouput 4-channel masters to Digibeta or a BVW, with VO on Ch1&2, and music and SFX on Ch. 3&4, or when you want to have two pairs of English and Spanish mixes, or if you wanted to access outboard sweetening equipment such as a compressor and wanted to compress the VO separatly from the music and sfx, or...you get the idea.
BTW, the Lynx-Two-A is a good Professional card, SMPTE generation, composite video gen-lock, balanced analog I/O, sample rate conversion, etc.
