Since you have a little time to download the update to VT5.2, check out the live webcast from World Series of Poker Europe.
You can see it from 2 sites:
http://www.espn360.com
or
http://wsope.betfair.com/live-video/live-video.html
ESPN360 is from a satellite uplink from here in London back to the US then transported over fiber from the downlink facility to the Move Encoders server cloud. To view ESPN360's feed you have to be on one of their lucky subscribers. Verizon FIOS, ATT broadband are some of the few. Go to ESPN360 and check to see if your provider is a partner.
Betfair is a no commercial broadcast so breaks are pretty lame with just a looping graphic clip. Betfair is a straight normal everyday wmv encoded from the VT doing the switch.
It has been a real trip working with the guys over here. Check out the look of the stream and let us know what you think.

Looks good Jef. The stream looks great on betfair.com. It looks like on the ESPN360.com stream they're taking the 16x9 video and pillar-boxing it. It looks squished. I wonder if their streaming only does 4x3 and doesn't recognize 16x9 video.

ah Brian, you are one of the lucky ones....
On ESPN360's player, click 16:9 and it should look correct then. Little button on the bottom right. We had some satellite flag issues at first but they have been fixed now.
Check out this signal flow....
Out of the 2nd VT in mastercontrol to Ku Satellite sat truck here up to Satellite IS3R which converts to CBand on the bird and then is downlinked in Atlanta at Vivix then transported over fiber to ESPN's feedroom then encoded with the Move Networks encoder server cloud.
All this just to webcast poker. :)

Jef,
Thanks for the 16x9 help. I looked over that little button at first.
That satellite van looks smaller than most of the ones here in the US... even smaller than Dodge Sprinter uplink vans. None the less, cool signal flow setup you have there. Sounds like an interesting event to work.
By the way, I've started running a satellite truck locally. I will be on the road soon running it solo.

That is great to hear about your new job.
yeah this Sat van is super tiny. Feels like a matchbox car. Only a little bigger than a Chrysler minivan.

Nice work Jeff.
You know I asked them the same thing...
There are no jacks or bracing to stabilize the van. Guess it is a good thing there is not much wind here.
Thanks btw.

After a 2 hour dinner break, the players are back at the table and the cards are in the air...
Enjoy!

About to post in the LiveSet section but made this after viewing your show.
Was thinking, why didn't Jeff use a more appropriate themed LiveSet.

Don't talk about me like I am not here...;) I am still here. We are on Hour 18 of this broadcast. We will have a nice 24 hour workday very shortly. :)
I will check out that set shortly. I have been trying to talk my client into to doing a custom set more poker related. Jose, you and I should talk next week about doing just that.

We Did IT! We set a record for the longest final table in World Series of Poker history. 22hours Live on the Air!
So when you get the feeling that your football, basketball, or soccer game is going long.... Well just remember you could always be shooting Poker!
Now on to the tear down or de-rig as they call it here in London town.
Oh and the VT systems running VT5.2 performed FLAWLESSLY!
